The Wasteland

The Wasteland is a movie about a woman who lives in the desert. She obtains her livelihood from a solitary tree next to which she spends most of her life. However, one day, pink petals fall from the sky. It’s something beautiful that she has never seen before, so she decides to go in search of the place from where the petals drifted. She embarks on an exhausting journey repeatedly, but she is always compelled to return to the tree for sustenance. Slowly, the woman loses hope that she will ever find something more in life than just the harsh sand.

Timotej Lukovič is a graduate of The Film and Television Faculty of The Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava. His first film The Knife was awarded as the best animated movie at the Áčko festival – student film festival of Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava and has been screened at numerous film festivals all over the world (Barcelona, Chile, Ireland, Slovenia, Hungary, Czech republic…)
