A scene inspired by the Seto Inland Sea is rendered in sumi-e ink painting style, set to a violin version of the koto piece HARU NO UMI (The Spring Sea) by Japanese musician and composer Miyagi Michio, composed in 1929.
Koji Yamamura
Koji Yamamura is a Japanese director, producer, animator, and illustrator, as well as a professor at Tokyo University of the Arts since 2008. He is a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. Nominated for an Oscar for Best Animated Short Film with Mt. Head (2002), he has won Grand Prix awards at Annecy, Ottawa, and Hiroshima, and has received over 155 awards for his directorial work.
