When nine-year-old Lucie arrives in Bectoile for the holidays, she has no idea of the adventures that await her. Her mother, Caroline, is leading an archaeological dig in the region with her colleague Pierrot. Bectoile is also the town where Caroline grew up and the site of a family secret… which Lucie is about to reveal! With the help of her new friend Yann and a very special pair of songbirds, Lucie is determined to delve into her family’s history.
Antoine Lanciaux (b. 1970) is a French director, screenwriter, and animator specializing in animated films. He began his career in 1989 and worked for years with Folimage, perfecting paper-cut animation with director Michel Ocelot (Kirikou and the Sorceress, Azur and Asmar, Princes and Princesses).
He has co-directed several critically acclaimed and critically acclaimed projects, including the animated puppet series LES 4 SAISONS DE LÉON and the short films PEINTURE FRAÎCHE and NEIGE, all of which won international awards (including a Cristal at Annecy). He has also co-written screenplays for other animated films. LE SECRET DES MÉSANGES is his first feature film and is made entirely of paper-cut animation.
