Olongho

Directed by Anna Pyzik
Country Poland
Year 2025
Runtime 4′

The animated short Olongho takes us on a journey far away, both geographically and temporally. The opening shots show a wild, frozen land, from which we are transported into a warm, lively home. The gathered villagers listen attentively to the tale of the olonkhosut. The central story focuses on a young girl and her initiation as a shaman. This period of trials and harsh experiences will forever transform her social status. From a quiet girl, she turns into a mature woman, a guide, and a guardian of her people.
