Marie-Hélène Van Thuyne
Marie-Hélène has been fascinated by dolls and miniatures ever since she was little. In high school, she created her first miniature set and puppet, which led to her first stop-motion short film. That experience sparked her love for animation and artisanal hand-crafted work, inspiring her to study stop-motion animation at RITCS in Belgium. Since then, she has had the opportunity to work on incredible projects, such as The Miracle by Nienke Deutz and On the Wings of Hermes by Jaco van Dormael. Her journey blends technical skill with a deep commitment to the art of stop-motion—a dedication especially visible in her recent film, JUDY1964, a single-shot piece that highlights her attention to detail and craftsmanship.
