Following an explosion, an elderly woman finds herself in a shoemaker’s workshop. She embarks on a journey through a labyrinth of floors, living simultaneously in the present and in the dusty past. On her path toward childhood, she meets her past self and wanders through the rooms of her memory. As a child, she tries to keep eating through time, but the relentless rhythm of the machine of life keeps ticking.
Mari Kivi
Director and artist Mari Kivi was born on October 17, 1984. In 2018, she graduated (cum laude) from the Animation Department of the Estonian Academy of Arts. Her graduation films Food Chain and Contact were screened at international festivals such as Annecy and Stuttgart, and in 2019 Food Chain was shortlisted for the BAFTA Student Film Awards. In 2021, she founded the Animist Tallinn international animation festival.
