Native of Nantes, Morgane Simon moved to Belgium in 2015 to study animation at the Haute École Albert Jacquard (Heaj) in Namur, before going on to complete a master’s degree at the École nationale supérieure des arts visuels de La Cambre in Brussels. In September 2020, she joined the L’Enclume animation studio in Brussels to work on the feature film “Yuku and the Himalayan Flower” (Rémi Durin & Arnaud Demuyck). In her personal work, she likes observational drawings, the human figure and background colours. Comics and music are also a major source of inspiration, and play an essential role in her artistic work
Arnaud Demuynck: Born in 1966, in Belgium
Arnaud Demuynck is a film director, producer and scriptwriter specialized in short and medium-length animated films. Since his ‘L’Ecluse’ (The Lock), a short choreographic fiction film made in 2000, he has written and directed many animated films, including a choreographic trilogy made up of ‘Signs of Life’ (2004), ‘The Shadow of the Veil’ (2006) and ‘Breakout’ (2007), followed by a poetic trilogy co-directed with Christophe Gautry ‘La Vita Nuova’, ‘The Lunatic Council’ and ‘An Interrupted Spectacle’. With ‘Under Blue Skies’ (2009), he started writing films for younger audiences, either based on traditional stories and nursery rhymes, or adapting kid’s books to animation. In 2022, he released his first animated feature film, ‘Yuku and the Himalayan Flower’, co-directed with Rémi Durin.
