Simply Divine

(Romania/2025/14′)

In 1939, Anna Florea met the young soldier Jean Mihail in her home village in Bukovina and fell in love. Too soon, however, Jean was ordered to the front lines: although his passionate letters kept their bond alive, when Anna had to flee, contact was severed. Anna Florea herself tells the story today, at the age of 91, supported by the digitized images of 5,000 previously unpublished ambrotypes dating back to the 1930s, 1940s, and 1950s.
