“Fiore mio” is a visual suggestion, a succession of images meant to tell the story of absence and presence, what remains or what is lost, between two people when their paths part. The project was born from a dedication to the song “Fiore Mio” by Andrea Laszlo De Simone.
The music video is a mix of traditional animation and footage, made by printing all frames by hand through the cyanotype technique under the sun of Lisbon. Thus, cyanotype becomes a tool that conveys the message, because it is a technique made of voids, of solids, which prints the present time of its creation in an imperfect way, linked to sunlight.

Viola Mancini was born in Serra de’ Conti in 1994. She studied animation at the “Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia” in Turin, graduating in 2019 with the short film “En Rang Par Deux.” She works as a freelancer and is co-founder of the Muta Animation collective. In the last year she worked as Art Director on the short film “The Meatseller” produced by Frenesy Film Company selected by Orizzonti at Venice Film Festival 2023.
She is currently working for Roberto Catani’s new film co-produced Withstand Film and MIYU production.
