Florence Miailhe
A graduate of the National School of Decorative Arts, with a specialization in printmaking, Florence Miailhe began as a designer and in 1991 directed her first short film, Hammam. From that moment she created a very personal style for her animated films: using tempera, pastels or sand, she creates the scenes directly under the camera, with a covering process. She received the César Award for Best Short Film for Au premier dimanche d’août (2002), a Special Mention in Cannes for Conte de Quartier (2006) and in 2015 the Cristal d’Honneur Award at the Annecy Animation Film Festival for her complex body of work. Her first feature film The Crossing in 2021 received the Special Mention at Annecy.
